Nissan reports record high auto sales in USA for 2014, up 11.1% to 1.38 million units

On January 5, 2015, Nissan North America announced the total U.S. sales for 2014. Nissan set an all-time record with 1,386,895 units, an increase of 11.1% over 2013.

Nissan Division set an all-time auto sales record with 1,269,565 units, up 12.2% year-on-year and a double-digit growth. The sales of Infiniti Division also increased, up 0.8% to 117,330 units.

For Nissan passenger cars, sales for the flagship midsize sedan Altima (Teana in Japan) are up 4.7% year-on-year to a record-high of 335,644 units. Meanwhile, the sales for the flagship compact sedan Sentra continue to grow, up 41.9% to 183,268 units. Because of the hatchback Versa Note (the new Note in Japan), Versa also set new record sales, up 19.1% to 139,781 units.

Next, Nissan SUVs sets an all-time high record because of the new Rogue, up 22.4% year-on-year to 199,199 units. On the other hand, the sales of the midsize SUV Pathfinder decreased to 79,111 units, down 10.7% year-on-year. But, the small pickup truck Frontier sales are up 18.3% to 74,323 units.

For Infiniti Division, the sales for the Q50 (the new Nissan Skyline in Japan) significantly increased, up 107.1% year-on-year to 36,899 units. Meanwhile, the sales for Infiniti’s flagship SUV QX60, which has the same mechanisms as the Nissan Pathfinder, decreased 1.3% year-on-year to 31,192 units.
