2015 Tokyo Motor Show: Smart Mobility series to be develop until 2019 according to JAMA Chairman Ike

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association plans to exhibit the Smart Mobility City, a futuristic mobility showcase city, to be implemented as a theme for business. They will propose a futuristic city with residence and society infrastructure for vehicles.

This was revealed by JAMA Chairman Fumihiko Ike at the Welcome Reception on Jan. 6. According to Chairman Ike, with the figure of Tokyo holding the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic in 2020, they will propose “a new social system and lifestyle centered around the next generation vehicles” in this year’s Smart Mobility Corner.

This year they will exhibit a miniature version of the showcase city. They are also planning to develop its contents in a series of three developments with the next ones to be exhibited in 2017 and the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Other than displaying that theme this year, they will also establish a test drive experiance corner for the next generation personal mobility and automatic operation technology. Smart Mobility City started as a sponsor event from 2011 when the Tokyo Motor Show was moved in Tokyo Big Sight. This time will be its third year.
