Honda launched the Honda Jet on April 23, 2015 at the Haneda Airport in Japan. It is a small jet that was developed and manufactured in the United States.
Its first flight was launched in Japan, which was selected among 13 countries to hold the demonstration of the Honda Jet. There will be demo flights, above ground exhibit and flight test sessions for clients in Japan airports, particularly in Sendai, Kobe, Kumamoto, Okayama, and Narita from April 25 to May 4.
Honda’s President Takanobu Ito was interviewed on that same day, “Honda have always dreamed about going above the sky, ever since its establishment. Soichiro Honda had been keeping this dream, and it is also the dream of Honda’s people. If that dream is finally achieved, I believe it is a very big step,” he explained.
Moreover, he highlighted that, “Regarding its performance and comfort, this Honda Jet creates a new standard in small business jets, making it one of Honda’s works of art we take pride in. Through the high dynamic performance from the engines arranged in their distinct main wing surface and its composite lightweight body, it materializes a full fuel consumption improvement”.
There are already more than 100 orders of Honda Jet in the United States, and through the authorization of the American Aviation, one unit will be supplied after several months.
Aside from the flight test sessions for the clients which will be conducted in 13 other countries outside Japan, this flight demo called “Honda Jet world tour” will also be exhibited at the Europe’s biggest business jet exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland on May 19, 2015. It will be launched in Europe.
