On January 9, it came to light that among Japanese makers, Mazda and Mitsubishi will not unveil new models at the 2017 North American International Auto Show.

This was revealed by the organizers of the event. The two automakers' names do not appear on the show's press conference schedule.

Of the two makers, Mazda puts more effort on the Los Angeles Auto Show each fall. It unveiled the new CX-5 at this year's show in LA.

The Japanese makers who will hold press conferences at the show are Toyota (including Lexus), Nissan (including Infiniti) and Honda.
