On December 31, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) revealed their December auto sales results in India.
TKM's sales are on its fourth consecutive month of decline, down 20% year-on-year to 10,883 units (including exports).
The breakdown of the December auto sales is as follows: 10,442 units sold in the domestic market and 441 units in exports, a fifth consecutive month of decline, down 11.1% year-on-year.
Their core models, the Etios and the Etios Liva, had their first major updates in October 2014. TKM mainly sells the Etios, the Corolla, and the Camry.
TKM started to export the domestically manufactured Etios series in April 2012. Etios exports significantly dropped this December, down 76.6% year-on-year to 441 units.
Senior Vice President and Marketing & Sales Division Director N Raja said regarding the sales results: "This is due to the flood situation in Chennai from November to December."
