The 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon was held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture. Suzuki Motor Corporation displayed the customized kei-car Hustler, with its Road Bike Style and Outdoor Style. They showed customization trends for the Hustler with these two models.
The Road Bike style is a model with an on-road finish. The vehicle is lowered by 40mm and it is equipped with an exclusive suspension and wheels; it dwells in the concept of enjoying the ride, combining road bikes and the Hustler.
On the other hand, the Outdoor style is lifted by 30mm to emphasize the outdoor figure of the Hustler finished with a form of that of an off-roader.
Hisanori Matsushima, in-charge for both models in Suzuki's four wheel design department, said, "We have not yet planned its commercialization. However, we want to see everyone's reaction and review for that."
"We are putting our efforts into the supplies deployment for the base vehicle Hustler. Therefore, it has become a vehicle that customers can make their own; they can make their own Hustler style." He explained regarding their aim in the vehicle display.
He continued, "In this sort of show venue, we have risen as an aftermarket parts manufacturer by showing trends of customization coming from us. I believe that this can lead to more vehicle sales." as he showed Suzuki's attitude towards customization culture.
